Merry Christmas to all....

I hope your holidays are going well and everyone has good health.

I know for myself, some of my good intentions struggled with the clock and calendar. That, coupled with my new pup Bandit- who requires a bit of attention, sometimes left me challenged! I managed to get my cards in the mail, but as late as the 24th of December! Not a lot of time for it to get to its destination!

This leads me to my New Years resolution! Planning, planning, planning!
A couple years ago it was about organization. But now, as time seems to speed by, I will focus on planning. And you? What have you decided will be your New Years resolution?

Enough about that. I sent out three different batches of cards. Finally when I ran out of stock I had to make up some more. Guess what? If you were the recipient of one of these cards, hubby did all the alcohol ink backgrounds! Have a look:

He did a great job! Thank you!

Have a great holiday and I wish you a Happy New Year!

Count down to Christmas card stamp stack!

The first snow of the year has arrived reminding me to get into high gear !

It was fun to watch my pug puppy experience his first snow. With his flat little nose he was able to make snowballs and kept pushing the snow around the deck. And, he couldn't stop eating it either!

Back to the task at hand. As promised more posts of the wonderful cards we will be making:

Simple and eye catching!
And one more:

This one is sized to hold cash. We will have to make an envelope too!

Hope to see you at the event.

Getting ready for Christmas

For those of you who are on my mailing list you've been expecting this post.

I promised to post pictures of cards for my upcoming stamp stack.  A stamp stack is a stamping event where you come and make 12 cards. I am offering 12 cards of 12 different designs. And, this month, on November  28th,  we are doing Christmas themed cards.

You may recall that in July I went to a Christmas stamping event.  I was fortunate enough to be the winner of two packs of ready to make cards. I saved them for this event. They are not my design but are lovely Christmas cards!

Here is the first:

And the second card:

If you are interested in attending, please contact me by email.

Thanks for stopping by and watch for more posts!

New Baby!

Not mine!

I have been focused on doing a mini album and card for a retiring employee. After 40 years I couldn't let him leave without some accumulated memories. It turned out awesome and I think he enjoyed it very much.

Now, another project! A co-worker and his wife had a new baby! What a pleasure  to create! What do you think?

Here is a closer look:

This stamp is from Magnolia Stamps with papers from Stampin up and Copic markets. Of course glitter was added to give it just enough bling!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a crazy bird weekend!

Life has been exciting with our new pug puppy! He has been a joy! It's exciting to watch him learn and grow. We have had him only two weeks and he has doubled in size. Yesterday he spent a portion of the day curled up at my feet in my craft room.

And what a day it was! At work, we have an employee retiring after 40 years! Hats off! Somehow I had to make a card where everyone would be included. I decided to use Tim Holtz crazy birds! I also punched out some tags where everyone can write their name and we will add it the bird.

Here is a look at the card front:

And inside

And the verse

I hope everyone likes it and it can hold all the well wishes of the team.

The card was coloured with copics and all papers are Stampin up- of course!

Feeling sporty?

I was! I wondered what would excite my grandson when he saw his card ( besides what was inside of course!) and asked Mom to give me a hint. Reading, swimming and soccer was the reply. This was later followed by "oh, and emojis!"

By then I had already focused on soccer and thought of all those wonderful Quickutz I had purchased! Here is what I put together:

It reflects a bit, but I have a happy birthday sticker on top. I used my impression obsession grass die twice to get the layers.

Here is an inside look

Time to get back to paper work!

What do you think of this card? I created it for some one at work who was headed out the door to another job.

I'll never know if my humor was appreciated- he never said. I used stamps from the stamping barn and papers from Stamping Up. The image was coloured using copics.

Have a closer look:

With the verse..

I thought it was cute and I hope you do too!

What 'cha been doing?

I've been busy!
First I have to say a goodbye to the family goldfish. He, from my point of view, has been with us since 1999. We got both the goldfish and our beloved Hudson the same year. Strange that they should both pass in the same year. Maybe the fish mourned our dog? Who knows. After watching the recent airings of Zoo, I will not question the animal kingdom.

On to happier thoughts. Yesterday I enjoyed a great day taking a jewelery class with a couple of great friends. Then I came home to practice! Here's what I did:

This second one is on a bookmark; I love penguins!

I'm sure you will see more in the near future. I will be adding photos under the jewelery tab.

Have a great day!

Getting back on track

I'm back from a little blog hiatus! Things have been busy for the family. I had a sister who got married (think of the crafting that went on there!) a trip to Cuba and some health issues to work through. But life marches on.

I updated the link to the newest Stampin Up catalog. If you haven't heard, the Blendabilities were discontiued and you have till June 15th to return any that are defective. The results were not what Stampin Up had hoped for. For myself, it was nice to have an alcohol ink marker, but the difference between the 3 shades offered were not substantial enough to give me the gradiation I would have liked. I did buy a set of chameleon pens. Stay tuned for updates there too - so far, results not as expected. Copic, you just may have the market on this product.

I don't have an image to share right now, but I promise to get something new up here soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

For a little boy

Lots of upcoming birthdays, baptism and weddings in our family! So a lot of time is being spent in the craft room!

Today I share the baptism card I made. It is sort of cute and could also be used for a new baby. It is the inside that made the difference. First here is the outside:

A closer look at the image:

Then inside I used both sides -one for a greeting and the other a verse:

The verse is cute:

Happy baptism day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Deviation from card-io-logy!

Hello crafters!

We have a family wedding coming up! That's why I am back to some jewellery making! Hope you don't mind the segway!

I am dubbing it "A night at the Oscars!". There will be much glitz, glitter and cleavage! So why not dress the part! I haven't decided what will be the final piece to wear, but with all these ideas swimming in my head, I had to turn some into reality. First off:

A simple pearl bracelet! I alternated with rhinestone spacers. My findings are usually silver ( not aluminum or steel).

Next, a possibility for my black sequin low plunge gown:

Another view:

Lots of rhinestones! But is it glitzy enough?

Finally this piece. Someone at the bridal shop where my sis got her dress was looking for a design like this:

And another view:

So, what do you think? Does this warrant an Oscar?

Happy Valentine's Day!

A day late, but I couldn't post before it was delivered!

For my honey this year I gave him this card:

He said it was the best card yet. Hmmm I think this is the first time I used an AI stamp! Here's a closer look:

Inside I used another AI stamp:

As you can see, we have been together for a while!

Other items used were a cloud die from sizzix, a la la land banner die, my copics

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the air!

I have a combination of things here today! I am throwing out a bit of lovin' to all my visitors!

This stamp is from high hopes. I love it! It is so cute! I have used Stampin up blendabilities to colour her in. I also used the Stampin up embossing folder, punch, honeycomb die and of course my  paper is Stampin up. I have added some gilding flakes to the heart edges to give it some shine!

Add a bit of glitter and voila! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Trying to think spring!

Depending where you are in the world, here in Canada we are in the middle of winter. Literally! They say that last week and this week, are the middle of winter. So I can only look forward to next week, and being closer to spring. That, and the snow storm currently blowing through, we only have Super Bowl  to warm our hearts!

So in keeping with the spring theme I have this card to share with you:

I have used Stampin up papers, including the special embossed paper currently being offered for sale-a-bration, ribbons and stamps, a doily and the sizzix flower die.

If you are like me, you may have one or two of these in your stash. You buy them and figure they are too finicky to use. I gave myself a challenge and this is the product. I used my McGill tools to work the petals, along with some ink for shading.

I also used some blendabilities to darken the centre of the flower. Another view:

I will be doing this card in an upcoming class. Hope to see you there.

It could go either way!

Almost valentines! No, I am not showing any valentine cards yet! But I do have one that I may use if the day isn't recognized!

She is cute isn't she? How could you get upset at her? However, we are not quite sure what she is thinking!

Here is a closer look

This was just something fun. I got to use the frontage again. I like the effect though I got more glitter than roughness on this one. I coloured her with prisma pencils. Papers were Stampin up and the frame  from Elizabeth dies. The stamp is from Mo Manning.

Thanks for stopping by!

2015 -A New Year; New beginnings

Happy New Year everyone!

As we look forward to a new year, I have to think new beginnings. Over the holidays I lost a dear companion. The family pet of over 15 years left us. I cannot express the sadness of this eventuality that I feel. Should you meet me in person, feel free not to express your thoughts.  I will only be reduced to a puddle.

But enough sadness. As all this was going on, I was neglectful of posting my Christmas cards. Yes, I did manage to make some as Hudson left us on January 3, 2015.

In his honor, I will look back over the end of 2014 and post some of the creations that came from my craft room.

As well, with 2015 comes the new Stampin Up Occasions catalog. And, best of all - the new Sale-a-bration catalog! This is the time of year when, with a $60 purchase, you get free product.

Let's start!

This is a high hopes stamp ( along with the verse)

A little something fun! I quickly made this card for my husbands work group! It just made me feel child- like again!

Here is a close up

And the colours I used:

May you all have a prosperous and healthy new year!
