Final Christmas Fat Cat

It has been a heck of a week and I am now officially behind in my Christmas preparation. The family was sick and so was I. We are still recovering, but there was a glimmer of hope as I pulled myself to my craft table today and was able to focus on the task at hand.

I finished cards for my hubby that he plans to give to his co- workers. Have a look:

I used a Loralie stamp as mentioned in a previous post. The verse is a Dyllusions stamp. It was coloured with copics. Here are the ones I used:

Included is a gold pen from Stampin up used in the cats glasses and buckle. The white cap is a white liner pen used for the eyes.

I hope you and yours are all well for the holidays!

Thanks for stopping by.

So much to do

And so little time! Why is it that no matter how early you start to make your Christmas cards you are always scrambling at the last minute? I can tell you why, it's because I'm always buying new and exciting stamps!

Yes, I have been shopping and still have many good intentions!

For this project I am using a stamp that I had from a previous year, a Loralie stamp named "Aunt Joy". Since I am a team manager, I find that she looks like the boss spreading good cheer. I hope my co- workers feel the same.

So, I am in mass production mode, which will be followed by a similar task for my husbands group using another Loralie stamp - "Santa Cat".

Let me give you a sneak peek for now, with more to come when it's completed.

I laugh to myself, because they remind me of stepford wives.... For Christmas!

SU-More Christmas cards

They have started to play the Christmas carols on the radio! And, Santa has come to town, parading through the streets. It's getting serious!

I am busy making my lists and checking them twice... To make sure I have enough cards ready!

Here is another one I recently used in my stamp stack. A stamp stack is a card making event that does not focus on techniques and has you working hard to get through twelve different cards!

Here are some gingerbread men. Aren't they cute! I love them. I just have to make more!

SU- creating the Christmas stash!

Before you know it, the holidays will be here. My Christmas tree is already decorated and in its spot! I have a new decoration on my tree- a train set that choo-choos it's way around the middle of the tree! Awesome!

I recently hosted a Christmas stamp stack! The attendees made 12 different cards all in the Christmas theme. I will showcase a couple over the next few days. I have my last Christmas class coming up during which we will finish off a small package of cards that can be used as a gift. But for now, have a look at today's card:

Stampin Up has a small selection of stamps that are sold separately as opposed to the usual set format. This is one of those stamps. What I like about that card is that I am always late with overseas or international mailing dates. At least with this card, by the time it's received, it will be just in time!

Happy New Year!

I toad-a-ly almost missed a post!

Goblins and ghouls oh my!
For all of my work mates I made a special Halloween treat box, well, a coffin. Anyway, in the spirits of Halloween, enjoy !

Thanks for stopping by!

What $&@?! - your next stamp!

I put this together for a long time friend out in Edmonton, Alberta. She does not have internet access so it's safe to post before she gets this card.

I always mix up her birthday date, and this year in keeping with tradition I did once again! But, on purpose! I really wanted an opportunity to use this stamp! Isn't he too cute?

I used my prisma pencils to colour him up. Here is the inside

I just added a strip of the same paper from the front. Otherwise, who knows, it may have ended up in the garbage. This way it helps flow through to the inside of the card. And, because I just think he is so cute, here is a close up! Say cheese!

Magnolia Get Well wishes

Sadly one of the members of our Magnolia group is going through treatment for stage four pancreatic cancer. I made a card to send off, and I was thinking that Tilda was just the best nurse ever!
However, next time I think something more cheerful would be better!
Tell me what you think

And Tilda a bit closer

These are the colours I used

Thanks for stopping by. Say a small prayer for everyone.

New Magnolia release winter wonderland!

I have been busy getting ready for the biggest card season for me, of the year. Not only am I talking about Christmas, but once September rolls around there is one birthday after another. Having said that, I am posting my swap card that is on its way to Shana! Have a look:

This is one of the new Tilda images from the winter wonderland collection that was just released. I am going to have to look up her name. She is just taking a walk through the forest..... On her way to Grandmas house?

Everyone loves a wedding!

And so do I! I had the honor of attending a wedding this past weekend. It was lovely and the bride gorgeous!
I had created her invitations and jewellery so it was truly a joy to be there to celebrate the day .

Of course I had a card for the bride and groom - ta-da!

And the inside:

It turns out my inside verse was very appropriate as they had an up beat ceremony that included readings such as "all I need to know I learned in kindergarten".

I had a great time!

Christmas with Paris

Every year I am challenged to make personalized Christmas cards for my Aunt that feature her teacup yorkie, Paris.

I have done doggies looking out the window, popping out of presents, being pulled on a sleigh and others. This year Paris is sending greatings from the mailbox!

It's an easel card! So fold it open and enjoy the greeting!

Say hi to Paris!

Stampin Up Swap card

This weekend some Stampin Up demonstrators will be getting together for  a shoebox swap. This means that each demo shows up with a designed card and enough supplies for everyone there to make their own. In this way, we share ideas and get to try new product.

This is the card that I will be using. It is made with strawberry slush paper and is all decked out with silver embellishments. Enjoy!

Happy Retirement!

You know how so of us cannot spend as much time crafting as they want? Well what better way to improve your skills for that lucky day then by sharing your art with someone who is retiring!

A previous supervisor of mine has "bought a cottage and a pick up truck"and is ready to move on to his next stage of life. Since I knew that he was leaving, I felt safe in depicting him in my art!

Really, if only......

He looks pretty happy with his tunes and drink!

All the best!

My Besties! Lets skate!

Hi all! Still working the Christmas theme and probably will till the big day. Although I am sure you will see some birthday thrown in for good measure!

Today I have a "My Besties" stamp for you. I love this stamp! Lots of lines are featuring the big eyes. I think this one is well done. So without further delay...

This next shot show the liquid appliqué texture. I added glitter before heating. I am trying to give it a faux fur look.

I will add the colours I used later. Need a pic!

Ok, I promised the colours? Well here they are!

A Christmas card using my stash!

Wow! I am pleased how this card turned out! I have been working on it the last two nights, and here's what came out:

Now you may find this cute, but have a look inside

Did you notice the snow flakes on the side? And the red ribbon ?

So what's that? This card is accelerated christmas. Did you notice the front - Santana coming to town; then the inside " and to all a good night" then this

I think o covered off various Christmas stories. The back is blank so there is still room to sign it!

I used these colours:

And here is a close up of the front

And the angle shot! Come on! It a card makers favorite season just around the corner! Enjoy.

Magnolia- Nativity Scene

Back to school! You know what that means! Costco has their Christmas stuff for sale!

But for all you card makers, you know that also means that if you haven't started making your Christmas cards, you will be burning the midnight oil to catch up!

To get myself in the spirit, I decided to use some stamps I had purchased but not yet used. Welcome Magnolias Nativity scene. Funny thing, only two wise men. I guess the other is tending to the animals.

I created this scene inside a small box. So it is 3-d. I must have used 50 percent of my copic markers to colour this. I added some flower soft in the front to create the grass effect.

A view of the left hand side.

And hopefully a sense of the 3d image. The box has a little ribbon so I can hang this on my tree.

Thanks for stopping by!

Whipper Snapper - Its never too late to make a card

Last night, my darling hubby comes home around 10.30pm and says - did I have a baby card handy?

Yes, sure! My kids are all grown, and I always keep baby cards handy! Really. Pooped as I was, being the good wife and avid card maker, off to my room I went to see what I could make up. And ta da!

I hope you like it. This is a Whipper Snapper stamp, Stampin up paper and coloured with prisma pencils.

Whimsey - piggy in glitter muk!

I coloured this card a couple of months ago but never finished it off. I could never find the right items. But since I pulled out my 3d flowers from ecstasy crafts, it all came together!

I still plan to add a greeting but that gets done when I have decided on the lucky recipient and the occasion.

Here is a closer peek at the image:

I used Copics to colour the image

And, one last shot of the fab 3d flowers!

Have a great day!

Whimsey Monday!

I am getting behind on my posts! I hope that you are enjoying my new cards. I have decided that I will be including the brand of stamp in my title to help with some future search features! Isn't technology great?

I made this card for an upcoming bridal shower. I don't think the bride follows my posts, but just in case you do, no peeking!

I used some Minds Eye paper, whimsey stamps ( for the tags too) and added some 3-d flowers and a cottage cut butterfly. This was colored with pencils.
Here is a closer look

You can't notice the subtle glitter from an  American craft glitter pen, but it's there! (me without glitter? what were you thinking?)
And a peek at the flowers:

Thanks and I hope to hear some feedback!

ATC - Quick cards

I have mentioned before that I like to create ATC's. ATC's stands for Artist Trading Cards. They are creations similar to baseball cards in that they are 3.5 x 2.5 in size and the object is create art in this small space. Sometimes multiple cards of the same picture are created, numbered and shared. Sometimes, you make so many that you have leftovers of more than you will ever need!

So what do you do with them? They make the perfect focal point for regular cards! As you can see in this picture, I used an ATC card, added an embossed background and put this all on a card. Fabulous!

A duck is a duck is a duck?

So many stamps, so little time! This card is made using Whimsey stamps (image and verse), copics and Stampin up paper. I love the fun image and with the weather lately playing in the rain is all the rage!.

I added some crystal effects and glitter to show off the water puddles

And here are the copic colours I used.

Thanks for stopping by!
