Swap card #4 - My Special Day

So by now, I have made about 80 cards, roughly 20 of each to get 20 diffferent cards back. Oh, I can't wait. This one is a very soft card, great for babies, religious celebrations or use bright colours for birthdays.
What I like about it, is using the embossing frame, die cuts and punches to get the window for the image. I then embossed the paper for the card, and voila! My embellishment here was simply ribbon.

Swap Card #3!

Button Buddies!

As with all SU swaps, you are encouraged to use multi-layers and embellishments, at least one. I find some cards just don't call for them, but it certainly forces creativity, which is why I participate in swaps.

With this card, I feel that the button could be left off and the card still nice. But my snowman has a healthy diet, so his belly is round! I used glossy paper which gave it a nice clean effect, and of course bling!

Next SU group - Seasonal 2

Wicked Cool! Swap card 2

I would like to think my card is wicked cool, but that is the name of the stamp set!
I love this card! I used embossed paper from our current catalogue, then embossed the "spooky" and candlabra on it, used some of the lace ribbon and a distressing effect to give it a bit of an antique feel. Tell me what you think!

And, they're off!

What? Where?
I have finished creating 14 different cards for a Stampin Up (SU)swap, and 2 additional cards for two additional SU swaps. Plus, 2 different recipe cards for a Magnolia swap, and to top it off, my ATC's for a monthly swap at Scrapbook Queens. Total cards? 262 before ATC's! That's a lot of cards.

The idea of the large SU swap was that the catalogue was divided into groups by the hostess; and if you participated in all the groups as I did, you would end up with a sample of each stamp set in the SU catalogue. There were 14 groups. For today, let's start with card one.

The first group: Seasonal - Group 1

For this group, I choose Christmas lodge stamp set. I will confess, that this was the last card I made, even though it was the first group. It was a toughy! It is a step card, so from an angle you will see the front verse, then next is the lodge, followed by the tree. I did get the idea online, updated the product and figured out the measurements to ensure the final product would fit in an envelope. Enjoy
