Keeping the blues away!

Hello crafters!

I think it’s been almost a year since I purchased the supplies for a wonderful crafting project designed by Jessie Hurley. She was in town for Scrapfest working with One Crazy Stamper; as was I!

After spending much time watching the demonstrations I took the plunge!

So, this is what I started with:

Odds and ends. You can see my little box of wood pieces below.

After adding some texture paste and postioning the left over box that stored those wood pieces ( I will be using them to hold pictures) I formed up the final pieces I was going to use. In my mind these were “4 seasons” - winter and spring; fall and summer. The obviousness of this will disappear in the final project.

Above, winter and spring

Above, fall and summer.

And now, ta-ta-ta-da! The final product:

I put metallic threads on the black boxes with clothes pins. These will secure my pictures and allow me to change them with my mood. The boxes are glued permanently to the base.

Close ups!

It was great to use my pastes and waxes. Choosing colors is always my challenge. I like to use many but limited myself to purples, blues, gold and silver.

Thanks for stopping by! And get crafting!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2018! We are submerged in a deep freeze-records being broken from 159 years ago! Yay! All I can say is thank goodness rubber can withstand the cold! Our stamps are safe!

To start the year,  I volunteered to sponsor a birthday box that gets sent to a school in North Spirit Lake. I included all kinds of goodies and treats to help the birthday celebration. The child I sponsored was a 13 year old boy.

Here is what I sent:

And if you peek way up at the corner, you will see my card.
I know the boy on the card is a bit young, but I hope he won’t mind.

Here is a closer look at the card:

I want to show you the metallic finish on the gaming console!

I hope the kids at North Spirit Lake have a great birthday celebration! It was my pleasure!

Hello! I have been working very hard on reclaiming my living room. I am not sure if I mentioned but I have been partaking being part of the sandwich generation. As a result I have been cleaning out a relatives house and dealing with possessions. It's been a long 5 months. My updates here have slowed but I hope that will change soon.

Today I need to step to paradise. And so I offer you thx following card:

This is made with Heartfelt stamps and papers. I love the bright colors!

Of course you can see I added glitter on the card. What's a card without glitter? Huh?

My bird of paradise! Please come home soon!
Wishing everyone out the happiness. See you again soon.

Lovely as a tree!

Stampin up's Lovely as a Tree is a timeless stamp set and perfect for my latest project. This is sure to be part of my next class.

I used the technique called Northern Lights. The colors of ink I used were: strawberry slush, tempting turquoise, daffodil yellow, tangerine twist and a bit of pomegranate.
For the sky I used Night for f Navy, and old olive  for the ground.

Using Lovely as a tree, I stamped once full strength then stamped again stamping off on scrap paper first.

I had so much fun I did additional variations and as you can see, no two are the same!

For this one, I skipped the green grass to give it more of a winter feel. I added some " snowball ribbon" to enhance the winter effect.

And finally, well, I just went nuts!

I added layers of ripped paper for snow, glitter of course, and die cuts to create a full on winter scene! The die cuts are from impression obsession.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sly Gray fox

But cute as a button!

This fox was created using, what else!; but the fox builder punch! The snowflakes are from the Seasonsl layers thinlets set , and the paper is from the Color theory paper pack.

The Seasonal thinlets set is very versatile and likely to become one of my favs!

Have a look:

A closer view:

Have s great Monday!

Have you seen a pumpkin spice ad?

I have! For cheerios! I hope I can find some.
This means that fall is coming. (Insert pouty face!) The pouty face is just because that means another summer has come and gone. But truthfully fall is my favorite season.

I bought a Halloween mystery box from Kraftin Kimmie and this stamp was included. I think she is gorgeous and there are a lot of posting of different cards using this stamp happening right now!

I did this one with pencil crayons and glitter. You always have to add glitter! Otherwise why craft?  This is a bit closer shot:

I have to show you left and right so you can see the effects.

Now, back to the current season! Enjoy!

Birthday Memories

If today is your day, Happy Birthday!

I'm just playing with the paper pack from Stampin Up called, what else? Birthday memories!

I made a fold out card and used a sheet that showed a birthday parade. I cut it carefully so that the characters I wanted were placed where I wanted them!

As you can see, I cut out some characters too and layered them up for better support.

This is the inside. Lots of room left for personal birthday greetings.

These characters were also cut out. On a plain background they add more fun!

So, if it's your day, I'm sending you a parade!
Have a great day!
